Disk Capacity: Most drive manufacturers these days misquote their drive capacities with an industry “standard” calculation. Actual byte numbers are in increments of 1,024, ie. 1 megabyte [million bytes] is 1,048,576 bytes. to make their drives seem larger the industry uses an increment of 1,000, not a big difference until you think that you bought a 500 gb hard drive but when you mount it there is only 475 gb available.


Incremental Backup: Adds new and changed files to the backup without deleting the old versions so you can revert to an old version later on.


mb: An abbreviation for the size megabyte. Also see “Megabyte”.


Megabyte: The equivalent of 1,024 kilobytes or 1,048,576 bytes. Also see “Disk Capacity” and “mb”.
